Music

Music ministry is an important part of life at First Lutheran. Several musical groups and opportunities enrich our worship and share the gospel in “letters and notes.”

Worship Music is selected by the worship team with an eye towards the Biblical texts used in worship that day. The music is presented by our Chancel choir to our praise of God and our celebration of the gifts of grace.

The Chancel Choir sings in worship frequently during the year. Directed by Stacie Carter and accompanied by Paul Rajala, their anthems represent a wide variety of music and make use of the gifts of the choir members. This may include soloists, duets or other groups. Accompanied by organ, the singers and musicians seek to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Most impressively, the choir sings at most funerals at First Lutheran, making an important contribution to the pastoral care during times of grief and sorrow.

New members are always welcome in the choir. They enjoy singing, but most of all, they enjoy the fellowship they have in Christ Jesus.

Other music opportunities…
Guest musicians, both vocal and instrumental, add to the joy of worship. Soloists, groups, organists, and pianists are a delight to hear as they share their gifts of music.
