Worship
Lutherans in worship are…
Engaging!
Worship is where we meet God – and where God meets us! We can be vulnerable with the God who chooses to be vulnerable in Jesus. We can be ourselves and be lifted up by God’s grace.
Evangelical!
Our worship forms around the good news of God’s grace and salvation in Jesus Christ, revealed through Holy Scripture, and proclaimed in word, prayer, and song.
Sacramental!
In Baptism and Holy Communion the Word of God, Jesus Christ, comes to us in visible, touchable form, acting in our lives to bring us strength, hope and new life.
Liturgical!
“Worship is a gift we give to God and in worship we receive God’s gifts to us. “
Communal!
In worship we gather together to be the people of God in this place and at this time, recognizing that other communities also gather to be God’s people in their place and their time.
Worship Opportunities
Our 8:00 am and 10:30 am Sunday morning worship services include hearing the Word from Scripture, and the proclamation of the Word through the sermon. The celebration of Holy Communion is a part of worship each week. Choir anthems on a regular basis enhance the hearing of God’s word. An integenerational message is presented. We have a quiet room with video, for parents who wish to observe and participate in the service.
Other opportunities for worship include:
• Special worship during Lent, Holy Week, Advent, and at Christmas.
Nursery
First Lutheran does not provide a staffed nursery. Members and guests are welcome to use the nursery room but will need to provide their own adult supervision for their children. We hope that we may be able to provide staffing again.
